Tsipouro 18 with or without Anise

Good company and a few small glasses! With or without anise, the transparent spirits or the world-famous tsipouraki, “make the heart happy”, especially at a time when we need a little joy, a little relaxation and a break from the hustle and bustle more than ever.

What are we talking about? For Tsipouro of course. But not just any Tsipouro, but the new product of the Agricultural Wine Cooperative of Nea Anchialos “Dimitra”, “Tsipouro 18”, which from the first days of its release seems to be “winning” not only the impressions but also the people’s preference.

We may have sat inside, the coronavirus pandemic that is plaguing the planet may have changed the facts of our lives, but here in Volos, and specifically in Nea Aghialos, the people of the Wine Cooperative did not sit idly by all this time.

With a lot of passion and love, they not only continued to work tirelessly but decided to take a risk and launch – in special and difficult times – a new tsipouro. And its name: Tsipouro 18.

Anniversary… Tsipouro

Many will wonder about the name. Why 18? For the old to remember and the young to learn, the Anchialos Agricultural Wine Cooperative “Dimitra” was founded in 1918, when the refugees from Eastern Romilia arrived with vines hidden in their necks in the area and created the vineyards of N. Anchialos .

From then until today we count not one and two but 102 years of operation. Always with excellent quality products and absolute respect for consumers. So the people of the Cooperative decided that the efforts of so many years were worth capturing in a new product. And that’s how it took its name!

With Muscat grapes of Anchialos

for new… tasting experiences!

“Tsipouro 18” has a full and round taste with a bright transparency and fine aromas. “It is a tsipouro with special aromas as it has been created from Muscat grapes of Nea Anchialos for which we devoted a lot of time and effort. But good work is always recognized and we see this from the first moment. Because within a week that the tsipouro was released on the market, the response of the people I can say is touching indeed», emphasizes the president of the Cooperative, Mr. Yiannis Kitsios.

He adds that “it is a new proposal in Tsipouro industry which aims to open new taste horizons in the world”.

For those who have already tried it, they know very well that the aniseed one will be perfectly enjoyed with fish appetizers and various pickles, while the aniseed one, apart from seafood of course, can also “work” as a digestive, that is, as another grappa, while it will pleasantly surprise you and its use in cocktails or in combination with white chocolate.

Great responsibility

As Mr. Kitsios explains, the responsibility that he, the Board of Directors, and the employees of the Cooperative bear is very great. “We manage a Cooperative, a business, from which practically the whole of Nea Anchialos lives. Do you understand the weight of our responsibility? We cannot afford to make mistakes. The slightest mistake.”

In fact, as this entire period of time makes clear, both during the quarantine and later with the gradual return to normality, everyone did everything possible to continue the smooth operation of the Cooperative.

“You know, many people came back and told me that we are crazy that in the midst of a pandemic and economic crisis we will launch a new product on the market. But we’re not crazy. We just love our job. We love our vines, our place, our product and we want to do our best. And to share this with the world. When something is the product of hard work with a lot of passion and love then there is no risk. Because when what you produce is good and with respect to the consumer, then the consumer also understands it. And it rewards your efforts. It is not good to rest. You must always improve and give the best to the world”, emphasizes the president of the Cooperative.

The old one is “coming”!

And since the surprises from the Cooperative seem to be endless, before long consumers will have the opportunity to enjoy yet another spirit… nectar.

It is the aged “Tsipouro 18” a golden tsipouro, aged in oak barrels. Here the taste acquires displacement, it is special and strong and now by enjoying it you will have climbed into the… premium category.
